I’ve said several times that Panama City feels more expensive than Mérida.

But feelings aren’t numbers.

So after living in Panama City for several weeks, I decided to actually compare some of the everyday expenses we’ve encountered in both cities.

I looked at 10 everyday costs…the kinds of things you actually spend money on when you live somewhere, not when you’re on vacation.

And some of the comparisons surprised me.

Panama wasn’t always the more expensive city.
